Plum Lovin

Today marks the begining of week 12 and coming up on the close of my 1st trimester. The baby is now about  2.1 inches long and about 1/2 oz. So about the size of a lovely plum.

The features on the baby's face are becoming more defined and the eyes are moving toward the front of the face. The brain is still developing and rapidly growing. The tiny hands will soon be able to open and close.

We have our 12 week appointment on Friday and I am both nervous and excited. Jeff will be able to take off work early and go with me for support, which is greatly appreciated. We are hoping we will get to heat the baby's heart beat and maybe get another ultrasound so we can see this sweet plum.

I still only have a small pooch for a belly, which is fine with me. I haven't gained any weight, I have lost. The morning sickness is getting better, but I have had a very hard time brushing my teeth...it seems to trigger it.

After not feeling well I went to my regular Doctor and found out that I have a sinus infection and double ear infection and some type of virus in my throat. He gave me some medication and is hoping it will kick all of this in the butt so I begin to feel better soon.

The Lime Life

Today marks the begining of week 11. The baby is about the size of a small lime, 1.60 inches and and about .25 oz. The baby is now developed enough be be called a fetus. Good news is the critical part of the baby's organ system development is over. The baby will grow and double in size this week. The eyes are starting to move from the side of the head to the front. The reproductive organs are also forming and becoming distinguished.

If i press about an inch below my belly button and an inch in I can now feel my uterus. It is kind of hard and very noticeable. It will move more under my belly button in the next few weeks.

I haven't been getting sick as much, seems to be in the morning again...can't brush my teeth for a few hours after waking, which is just gross. The cramps are still around...I have become use to them. We get to go back to the Doctor next week, very excited about that. I also got a letter in the mail today from my OB letting me know the amount we will have to pay out of pocket for the birth, $186.00! I can't believe that is it. I can also send payments in until it is paid off and have it done before the baby gets here. The amount will change if I have to have a Cesarean section.

Sweetness

Our "sweet" baby is about the size of a prune, 1.2 inches to be exact! All of the major organs have formed and during this week, both finger & toe nails are growing. There are even teeth buds forming...lets hope the baby isn't born with teeth..eeekkk!

The baby's head is still larger than the rest of it's body. The eyes are fully developed and are covered by the eyelids, which are fused shut for the next 15 weeks.

Crazy Dreams...

The new thing this week is the crazy dreams I have been having! The other night I had a dream I was at Disney and in line to get on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride....while we were waiting there was a line to see the Pope...I went up to him and he blessed my belly..saying the baby was a child of God...then I got on the ride and went about my day...Not really sure about the meaning of it all...but it could have been worse.

The morning sickness is still around...seems to hit me in the evening the last week or so. Jeff has been great about it. He is always there kneeling next to me until its over. I don't even call for him and he is at my side.

Looking forward to our 3 month appointment, can't wait to hear the heart beat :o)

Baby Knott's first appearance!

We had our fist ultra sound today....if you look closely to the left is the head, then there is a bump above the baby...that is one of the arm buds....the heart beat was a strong 170 beats a minute. Dr. Mueller said everything looked great.

I had my first day of really bad morning sickness. The Doctor said I could take some nausea medicine as well as Unisom for sleep...I have had a very hard time sleeping.

We go again on February 7th for our 12 week appointment, can't wait to see what baby Knott will look like then!

How can a bean cause you to pee pee pee ???

I don't understand how something the size of a kidney bean can cause so many issues. I have never peed so much in life! One would think my legs will be super strong by the time August rolls around. All day long, up and down the stairs...

Sleeping hasn't been great. I wake up to pee all of the time and am still experiencing cramps....not so worried by them anymore. The morning sickness seems to be getting a little worse, but it isn't as bad as I thought it would be...fingers crossed!

Other than that, nothing is new. We go tomorrow for our 1st ultrasound, both excited and nervous. Everyone is betting on twins, I will be ok with that but would prefer just one.

Anyway, I will update everyone after we see the Doctor tomorrow afternoon.
